Lacaze community in France soon to run 23 MW wind farm - report
Sep 5, 2012 - The Lacaze community in southern France will soon have its own 23 MW wind farm with 10 turbines, the Mayor of Lacaze, Michel Madern, told regional daily La Depeche.
The investment estimated at EUR 35 million (USD 43m) will be secured by Toulouse-based company Raz Energie.
All necessary documents for obtaining a building permit for the project have been submitted.
According to MPS, the local business newsletter in the Midi-Pyrenees region, the public inquiry for the project will start in November with the aim to be completed by March 2013. Construction works are expected to start in the summer of 2013.
The Mayor noted that the idea to set up a wind farm is supported largely by the local population given the fact that chances for attracting serious industrial investments in the vicinity are small.
