Nov 18, 2014 - KKR (NYSE:KKR) and Temporis Capital LLP said today that their new lending programme will support the construction of a 6-MW community wind park in Scotland with a GBP-8-million (USD 12.5m/EUR 10m) loan.
US investment group KKR and the UK Green Investment Bank (GIB)announced earlier this month that each of the two would commit as much as GBP 100 million to a new lending platform, managed by Temporis, for British community-scale wind and hydro projects. The parties have now announced that the first scheme to benefit from the specific programme would be the three-turbine Srondoire community wind park in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.
The particular project is developed by a joint venture between the Lithgow family of Ormsary and the Broadfoot family of Stronachullin. It is a sister project to the already operational 10-MW Allt Dearg community wind farm. Srondoire will be part owned by the local community.
