KfW bank boosts German renewables sector with EUR 7bn in 2009 - study
(ADPnews) - Oct 8, 2010 - The renewable energy promoting programme of German state-owned development bank KfW resulted in investments of EUR 7 billion (USD 9.8bn) in the sector in 2009, according to a study of the solar research centre of Baden-Wuerttemberg (ZSW).
The sum represents around 34% of all investments made in the sector in Germany last year. The bank was especially contributive to the wind power industry, being the initiator of 54% of the investments in wind power in the federal republic.
Furthermore, through the construction and expansion of renewable power plants supported by KfW, around 41,000 new job positions emerged in 2009.
