March 13 (SeeNews) - The Kenyan government said Thursday it will fast track the development of certain geothermal, hydro, wind and municipal waste power projects in the next five years.<br /><br /> Joseph Njoroge, principal secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, said so at an event in Nairobi. “Feasibility studies on the projects have been completed and they will require a total of USD 8.7 billion [EUR 8.2bn] to be operationalised,” Njoroge said at the validation workshop for the National Action Agenda and Investment Prospectus.<br /><br /> The meeting brought stakeholders to examine Kenya’s policies, regulations and tax incentives for the energy sector.
