Danish consultancy firm K2 Management said Wednesday it has secured the role of owner’s engineer and employers representative on the Saunamaa and Suolakangas onshore wind projects in Finland.
K2 Management will act on behalf of French wind power developer Valorem and UK onshore renewables investor Octopus, the partners behind the two farms totalling 71.4 MW.
The firm said its duties would comprise a full scope of reviews related to the design, management and safety, among others, as well as audits and inspections prior to takeover.
Valorem’s construction unit Valrea SAS will oversee the project and construction management services.
The 33.6-MW Saunamaa and 37.8-MW Suolakangas wind farms are zero-subsidy projects in which Valorem and Octopus will invest around EUR 80 million (USD 89.3m). Construction is slated to begin sometime during the second quarter of 2019, while commissioning is expected by late 2020.
