January 11 (Renewables Now) - German renewables developer Juwi Group has sold a 18-MW wind project in southwestern Germany to Dusseldorf-based AREAM GmbH for an undisclosed amount.

Comprising six E-115 turbines by Enercon, the Perl wind park is located in the state of Saarland on the German-Luxembourg-French border. The 3-MW turbines, once fully operational, are expected to generate together enough electricity to meet the demand of about 19,000 homes.

The first three turbines at the site were switched on last year, while installation and grid-connection of the other three is expected to be completed by the end of March.

The project was developed by Juwi, which will remain in charge of the plant’s technical operation following completion. Meanwhile, AREAM will take care of the wind park’s commercial management.

Juwi received approval for the project at the end of 2016 after six years of development, it said.
