Italian renewables firm ERG SpA (BIT:ERG) has sealed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) to supply 70 MW of wind power to energy trading and services firm ElectroRoute Energy Supply Ltd.
The capacity will be provided by the Evishagaran and the Craiggore wind farms that ERG is building in Northern Ireland. The projects are currently advancing through construction and expected to commence operation by end-2021, ERG said.
Once online, the two wind farms should be able to generate more than 250 GWh per year.
The agreements, signed by ERG's subsidiaries Evishagaran Wind Farm Limited and Craiggore Energy Limited, specify a "pay-as-produced" basis, with a fixed price remuneration for the entire output.
ElectroRoute, part of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp (TYO:8058), also committed to providing a "route to market" service in order to guarantee the power delivery to the country’s power grid, ERG added.
The two PPAs are ERG's first off-take contracts in the UK.
