Italy's Alerion buys 50 MW wind in Sicily

September 25 (Renewables Now) - Italian wind power producer Alerion Clean Power SpA (BIT:ARN) expects to acquire by the end of the year a 50-MW wind farm in Sicily.

The company said Monday it has been successful in a competitive process for the sale of the asset with a bid of EUR 32.9 million (USD 36.2m) at enterprise value. Under the transaction, Alerion will acquire the owner of the Regalbuto wind park, Anemos Wind Srl.

The wind farm has 20 pieces of 2.5-MW Nordex turbines and produced about 60 million kWh in 2018. With it Alerion reaches a gross installed capacity of 564 MW, getting closer to its goal of having 592 MW at end-2021.
