Non-destructive testing (NDT) specialist IRISNDT announced on Wednesday that it has acquired Altura Wind Services LLC, a provider of inspection, cleaning and maintenance services to the wind power market in the US.The transaction will result in Altura becoming a division of IRISNDT, with current co-owners Joshua and Samuel Hallam each assuming the role of operations manager for the business. The acquired firm has been serving the wind industry since 2001."With our combined capabilities, Altura will continue to grow its position as an industry leader in the blade repair and inspection segment and continue to expand into other areas of the wind services industry,” said Samuel Hallam.Altura’s existing activities will be relocated to the buyer’s US corporate offices in Houston, Texas. IRISNDT currently has 22 branch locations in the US, nine in Canada, seven in the UK and five in Australia. The company’s customers operate in the refinery, petrochemical, chemical, agriculture and power/renewables sectors.
