Oct 29, 2012 - Kilkenny County Council in Ireland has given the green light to a 12-MW wind power project located in the village of Tullaroan, local paper Kilkenny People reported on Sunday.
The approved plans for a four-turbine wind park to be installed at Foylatalure replaces a previously approved proposal at the site. The new plan envisions a 121-metre maximum blade tip height, compared to 75 metres in the previous proposal.
Planning permission has been granted for seven years, with the wind park to be operational for 10 years before the council reviews its operations. When work on the project starts, a development levy of EUR 31,450 (USD 40,634) will have to be paid to the council.
The project's developer must file an application for further permission to hook up the wind farm to the national grid.
