Inox Wind puts online 116 MW in India's Gujarat state

Indian wind turbine manufacturer Inox Wind Ltd (BOM:539083) said Thursday it has successfully commissioned several wind parks with a combined capacity of 116 MW in the northwestern state of Gujarat.

The company completed the projects for local firms Sembcorp Green Infra and Tata Power, as well as for public sector undertakings (PSU) such as Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd. The plants are expected to generate enough electricity annually to save 170,000 tonnes of standard coal and offset 200,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year, Inox Wind calculates.

Along wind the wind parks, the company also completed a 220-kV substation and the transmission line part of its 400-MW power evacuation infrastructure facility. They are located in the village of Rojmal, according to the press release.

Inox Wind will now provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the wind parks in the long term. The firm has a number of turnkey projects under development countrywide, it noted.
