March 12 (Renewables Now) - Indian wind turbine maker Inox Wind Ltd (BOM:539083) confirmed last week that it won 50 MW in the Maharashtra state auctions for wind power.
Inox Wind said in a statement that it will execute the 50-MW project over the next 12 to 15 months. The company itself will take care of the development, construction and commissioning of the plant and will also be providing operations and maintenance services over the long term.
As previously announced, the 500-MW Maharashtra tender attracted bids as low as INR 2.85 (USD 0.044/EUR 0.036) per kWh. Inox Wind has made an offer of INR 2.86/kWh, it said.
With this award, the company increases its auction-based order book to 850 MW. It noted though that the Maharashtra auction could further boost the order book if other winners select Inox Wind turbines for their projects.
