Ingeteam opens subsidiaries in Romania, Philippines

Spanish electric engineering group Ingeteam said Monday it has set up subsidiaries in Romania and the Philippines with a focus on local wind farm services.

Romania has over 3,000 MW of wind and 500 MW of photovoltaic capacity, while Ingeteam is responsible for the operation and maintenance of almost 400 MW. In the Philippines, the company has signed its first contract for the operation and maintenance of 174 MW, or 68.5% of the installed wind capacity.

The Philippines is expected to install over 500 MW of wind power by 2020 versus 33 MW at the end of 2011. Ingeteam already employs 20 people there, while in Romania it will hire 35 employees between 2015 and 2016.

Worldwide, the company provides operation and maintenance for 2,900 wind turbines in 140 wind parks of combined 6 GW.
