Infinis secures GBP 330m in loans for 274 MW of UK wind
Oct 15, 2013 - UK renewable energy producer Infinis Plc said on Friday it had struck deals to obtain GBP 329.5 million (USD 527m/EUR 389m) in loans to refinance its 274-MW portfolio of wind farms in the UK.
Infinis, a portfolio company of private equity group Terra Firma, sealed agreements to get a GBP-296-million secured term loan and ancillary facilities of about GBP 33.5 million. The funds went to refinance project loans secured against 14 of the company’s 16 operating onshore wind parks.
The new financing facilities are partially underwritten by National Australia Bank Ltd (ASX:NAB) with lead arrangers the Royal Bank of Scotland (LON:RBS) and Abbey National Treasury Services plc, trading as Santander Global Banking & Markets.
Infinis is engaged in the operation of wind, landfill gas and hydropower facilities. In its wind portfolio is the 36.8-MW Minsca wind park in Scotland, the 30-MW Ardrossan and Dalswinton wind farms also in Scotland, the 30-MW Lissett Airfield facility in England and the 30-MW Slieve Divena system in Northern Ireland.
