The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is seeking to add 100 MW of grid-connected wind power generation capacity in a tender among central public sector enterprises (CPSEs).
The Request for Proposals (RfP) was issued on Tuesday, according to SECI’s website. Under its terms, developers will be able to file proposals for interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected wind projects of at least 50 MW and not exceeding 100 MW that will be developed on a build, own and operate basis.
SECI noted that the selection of projects will be carried out on first-come-first-serve basis, awarding the lowest tariff in India’s second tender for 1 GW of wind, which is INR 2.64 (USD 0.04/EUR 0.03) per kWh.
Winning projects will be awarded 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with SECI, which will also sign off-take deals with interested buying entities.
The selected candidates will be responsible for the construction of the proposed wind farms and the transmission network up to the grid connection point. They will also have to secure all needed approvals, permits and clearances related to the projects and afterwards maintain the transmission system.
