A subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Adani Enterprises Ltd (BOM:512599) has ordered a total of 70 MW of wind turbines from Inox Wind Ltd (BOM:539083) for installation as part of its first wind projects.
Under two separate turnkey deals with Adani Green Energy Ltd, Inox will supply, install and commission 35 turbines in total, the company announced on Tuesday. They will be erected as part of a 50-MW project in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh state, and a 20-MW development at Inox’s Lahori site in Madhya Pradesh.
The turbine supplier will operate and maintain the two wind parks for a multi-year period.
The value of the contracts was not disclosed.
While this is Adani's maiden foray into the wind sector, the group has already engaged itself in the solar segment. In February, Adani Green Energy proposed to invest in and construct a 1,000-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in the state of Karnataka.
