Ilmatar Windpower Oyj said today it has acquired the rights to the 50-MW, shovel-ready Rasakangas wind project in Kurikka, Finland, from developer Megatuuli Oy.
The scheme calls for the installation of nine 210-metre-tall turbines at a site that is about 16 kilometres northwest of the Kurika city centre. Construction work is seen to begin in the winter of 2020-2021 and be completed in 2022.
Once up and running, the wind park will be able to produce around 135 GWh of electricity per year that corresponds to the annual consumption of some 54,000 apartment buildings, Ilmatar said.
