Iberdrola Renovables starts Alto Tamega complex in Portugal - report

(ADPnews) - Nov 22, 2010 - Spanish renewable energy firm Iberdrola Renovables (MCE:IBR) starts building its hydro power complex in Alto Tamega, northern Portugal.

The company has made the first step in the project awarding the construction of the future operation control centre to Portuguese builder DST, an official source from Iberdrola told business daily Jornal de Negocios as reported on Monday. The contract is worth some EUR 2 million (USD 2.8m).

The centre should be built in ten months. It will be located in the industrial zone of Ribeira de Pena. The centre will offer 2,200 sq m (23,680 sq ft) of office space.

The investment value of the whole Alto Tamega complex is estimated at EUR 1.55 billion.
