Iberdrola Renovables completes construction of 264 MW US wind farms in Dec 2010
(ADPnews) - Dec 27, 2010 - Spanish renewable energy firm Iberdrola Renovables (MCE:IBR) said on Thursday it had completed the construction of wind farms for a total 264 MW in the USA in December 2010.
Elm Creek II of 149 MW with 62 Mitsubishi turbines of 2.4 MW each was completed in December. The facility is part of the 250 MW Elm Creek Wind Farm, one of the largest in the USA.
Iberdrola Renovables also finished the construction of Dry Lake II, in Arizona, with 65 MW installed capacity.
Big Horn II wind farm of 50 MW, located in Klickitat county, Washington, also started operation with 25 Gamesa G87 turbines.
In the USA, the Spanish company is working mainly in the wind energy sector and at the end of September it had installed capacity of 4,314 MW, spread across 47 wind farms, forecasting to close 2010 with some 4,590 MW.
