Spain will hit 68% renewable power in 2030, but needs more flexibility - BNEF
Dec 06, 2019 16:16 CESTNovember 29 (Renewables Now) - Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE) has set up a car park with chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) at the Madrid fairground and events facilities that will host next week’s 2019 UN Climate Change Conference (COP25).
The new piece of infrastructure is the fruit of an agreement with the event venue manager IFEMA, which Iberdrola signed on Friday.
The Spanish power utility said its car park can charge 34 EVs simultaneously and some 13,000 EVs annually, using 100% renewable energy as the power source.
The park opens tomorrow, November 30, and will be available to participants of COP25, Iberdrola said.
The conference will take place in the period December 2-13.
