Hunosa to invest EUR 41m in biomass power plant construction - report
Aug 6, 2013 - Spanish state-owned miner Hunosa plans to invest EUR 41 million (USD 54.4m) in the construction of a 49.9 MW biomass-fuelled power plant in the region of Asturias, daily La Nueva Espana said.
The plant will consume 128,000 tonnes of forest waste annually, which will be processed by a grinding system, Hunosa said in a request for an administrative authorisation presented before the Asturias economy and employment commission.
The equipment of the facility will consist of a water tube boiler and an 18.75 MV generator. The energy produced will be fed into the power grid through a transformer and a 225 m-long (738.2 ft) underground transmission line.
The plant will be built in the Reicastro industrial polygon.
