HTM Helicopter orders Airbus aircraft for offshore wind farms

Offshore wind operations

October 14 (SeeNews) - German company HTM Helicopter Travel Munich GmbH has ordered a helicopter from Airbus Helicopters to serve offshore wind farms in the German Bight of the North Sea.

The contract for the H145 aircraft was signed at the Helitech International exhibition in Amsterdam on Wednesday, Airbus Helicopters, a division of Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), announced.

The helicopter will be delivered in December 2017 and will be operated from HTM's bases at Emden, Norden, Borkum and Helgoland. HTM already has 11 aircraft of Airbus Helicopters' H135 family.

"We believe the H145 is the right helicopter to respond to the increasing demand for hoisting helicopters with larger transport capacity and dual pilot operation, especially for windfarms increasingly further out to sea," Bernd Brucherseifer, HTM's managing director, said in a statement.
