Hitachi Zosen to sell simplified waste-to-power plants in India - report
Sep 25, 2012 - Japanese engineering firm Hitachi Zosen Corp (TYO:7004) will start distributing a simplified version of its waste-to-power plant in India, Japanese news portal Nikkei reported today.
The cost of building the simplified plant will be about one-third the cost of Hitachi Zosen's regular plants. Return on investment is expected in 10 years with revenues from garbage processing and power sales. Hitachi Zosen will cooperate on parts procurement and manufacturing with local firms to further reduce plant cost.
The Japanese company will promote a plant that is capable of processing 580 tonnes of garbage per day and expects to receive two or three orders in the current fiscal year, according to the report.
Hitachi Zosen also plans to offer the product in southeastern Asia.
