Hellenic Cables to supply inter-array cables to offshore wind farm in Taiwan

July 6 (Renewables Now) - Hellenic Cables, part of Cenergy Holdings (EBR:CENER), on Tuesday said it will supply inter-array cables for the Hai Long 2 and 3 offshore wind project with a total capacity of 1,044 MW in Taiwan, marking its entry into the Asian market.
Under an exclusivity and capacity agreement (ECA), the cable producer will provide about 140 kilometres (87 miles) of 66 kV XLPE-insulated inter-array cables and related accessories for the project, which is being developed by Canadian energy company Northland Power Inc, Yushan Energy Pte Ltd and Mitsui & Co Ltd (TYO:8031).
Hellenic Cables will make the cables at its vertically integrated submarine cables plant in Corinth, Greece. For Hai Long 2 the cables are expected to be ready in the first quarter of 2024, and for Hai Long 3 in the fourth quarter of 2024.
