Grupo TelSat to demonstrate Triton wind profiler in Spain
(ADPnews) - Oct 21, 2010 - Grupo TelSat, a Spanish company offering technical services for wind farm development, on October 28 will host a demonstration event in Zaragoza to showcase the Triton Sonic Wind Profiler.
Triton is an advanced remote sensing system that uses sodar technology to measure wind at higher heights than the previous tower-based standard. By measuring wind speeds at the turbine rotor's hub height and beyond, Triton reduces uncertainty in annual energy production (AEP) forecasts, Grupo TelSat said yesterday.
At the demonstration event, invited developers will see a Triton installation adjacent to a 60 metre (196.9 ft) tall met tower, and will be able to view live wind data as it's gathered.
