Jun 4, 2014 - Indian firm Greenko Group Plc (LON:GKO) said today it had commissioned the 50-MW phase two of the Basvanbagewadi wind farm in Karnataka, bringing the facility’s total operational capacity to 131.2 MW.
The wind park’s first phase includes 51.2 MW of wind capacity. The whole wind farm complex, which has a 10-year indexed power purchase agreement (PPA) in place, also includes the 15-MW Mangalore and 15-MW Matrix wind farms, which are already operational.
The Basvanbagewadi Phase-2 was constructed for a total cost of about EUR 45 million (USD 61m). It features Gamesa G97 2-MW turbines.
Greenko, which develops wind, hydro, natural gas and biomass projects, now has a total generating portfolio of 611 MW, including 298 MW of wind.
