February 20 (Renewables Now) - Danish onshore and offshore wind installation and servicing firm Global Wind Service (GWS) has selected Michael Hoj Olsen as its new CEO.

Olsen will step down from his current post as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), which he took in 2014 when he joined GWS. He will replace co-founder Lars Petersen, who will be the new CCO with responsibility for sales and business development. According to the Danish firm, the repositioning will help it “make the next step” in its development.

Both appointments are effective from February 19.

“Our ambition to be the preferred global partner for complete wind turbine services remains the same, and we will continue to build on our strengths, always striving to deliver the highest safety and quality standards to our customers across the wind industry,” Olsen commented.

Before joining GWS, Olsen occupied different marketing posts at Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems (CPH:VWS).
