Global Bioenergies seals strategic partnership with Polish Synthos

Jul 19, 2011 - French alternative fuels specialist Global Bioenergies (EPA:ALGBE) announced today it had signed a strategic partnership deal with Polish chemical raw materials producer Synthos (WAR:DWR) for biological butadiene.
The partnership concerns a method for the transformation of renewable resources into butadiene, one of the most important molecules in petrochemistry.
The contract covers research financing and future payments, and defines exploitation rights.
Moreover, under the terms of the agreement, Synthos will buy a stake in Global Bioenergies for EUR 1.4 million (USD 1.9m).
According to broker Gilbert Dupont, the development of the new method builds on the French company's efforts for the development of isobutene.
