GES wraps up construction of over 300 MW of wind projects in Spain

Spanish renewables contractor Global Energy Services (GES) said it has finalised the turbine installation and the construction of the supporting electrical and other infrastructure for over 300 MW of wind projects in the native country.

GES was contracted by Denmark's Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (​CIP) to provide the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services and take charge of the supply, balance of plant (BOP), turbine installation and electrical works for projects in the 487-MW Monegros wind portfolio.

As part of its contract, GES installed 323 MW of wind turbines, or 85 units, in Zaragoza province and built infrastructure to support 345 MW, the contractor said.

GE Renewable Energy is the turbine manufacturer chosen for the project.

According to the Spanish company, all power lines will be energised by the second quarter of 2021.

As a full-service provider, GES has installed around 3,000 MW in wind farms in different countries around the world, the company added.
