Global Energy Services (GES), a Spanish renewables contractor, said on Tuesday it has commissioned a 40.8-MW wind park in its home country for German utility RWE AG (ETR:RWE).
GES was contracted to provide engineering, construction, civil works and the medium-voltage network, as well as a series of adaptations to the Trevago substation for the wind park.
Named REA Unificado, the wind farm features nine turbines located in the municipalities of Trevago, Valdelagua del Cerro, Fuentrestrun and Castilruiz, Soria province, in the northeastern Spanish region of Castile and Leon.
According to the Spanish contractor, Soria is aiming to become a key player in the country's renewables sector. In a manner of months, it has seen more than 600 MW of wind and solar capacity enter the construction phase, representing over EUR 650 million (USD 640.9m) in investments, GES noted.
