German wind turbine manufacturer FWT Production GmbH has received a turn-key contract for a 51-MW wind farm in Russia, it said on Friday.
The company will supply and install 20 FWT 2.5-MW turbines for the project, which is described as the first private-investment industrial-scale wind farm to be built in the Russian Federation. Commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2017.
The customer is Alten Ltd, a subsidiary of a Czech-based Falkon Capital. Corporate Energies, and its unit Energy Competence Centre, have been appointed owner's engineer of the project.
The facility will be located in the republic of Kalmykia, in the southern part of the Russian Federation. It represents the first phase of a project with an overall capacity of 300 MW.
FWT, a company set up in 2013, will start delivering the turbines later in 2016. The contract also covers all electrical and civil infrastructure works.
