German Nordex starts mass production N117/2400 onshore turbines

(SeeNews) – Jul 31, 2012 – German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) said yesterday it has started mass production of its N117/2400 onshore turbines according to plan.

Manufacturing of the turbines commenced at the sites in Rostock, Germany and in Jonesboro, in the US state of Arkansas, in the middle of July. The turbines will be used for projects in Germany and the US with a total capacity of 130 MW.

The N117/2400 turbines have TUV Nord and DiBt 2 certificates for the three hub heights of 91, 120 and 141 metres, configurations with 50 and 60 Hertz as well as the normal and the cold-climate versions. As a next step, Nordex will include further suppliers in the IEC certification, the company said.
