German KTG Energie’s net profit falls threefold in H1 2012 on one-offs
Sep 18, 2012 - German biogas producer KTG Energie AG yesterday reported a net profit of EUR 100,000 (USD 131,000) for the first half of 2012, down from EUR 300,000 a year earlier due to one-off costs of EUR 1.3 million.
Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased by 45.1% to EUR 2.6 million. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) improved by 44.8% to EUR 3.9 million.
Revenue grew by 50.6% to EUR 13.4 million.
As of June 30, 2012 the group had biogas facilities with a total capacity of 30.6 MW, which is 8.2 MW more than as of end-2011. At the end of June KTG Energie had facilities with a capacity of 9 MW, which were under construction.
CEO Thomas Beger said that the company has once again managed to balance its profit and revenue increases and the expansion of its capacity and thus create a basis for more secure future earnings.
