Jun 24, 2014 - German energy and infrastructure services provider HSE AG said Tuesday it will partner with local firm Proreo to build an up to 12-MW wind farm in the state of Hesse.
The two companies aim to erect three or four additional turbines near their existing 4-MW Binselberg wind park in the town of Gross-Umstadt, which they installed together in 2010. The new plant will be able to generate between 25 million and 33 million kWh annually, or enough to meet the needs of some 11,000 local households.
HSE and Proreo plan to commission the wind farm extension by the end of 2015. At present, the partners are negotiating the contracts for the additional capacity.
The project initiators calculate that once the expansion is completed, Gross-Umstadt will be able to cover a third of its power demand with with energy.
