German Biogas enters Czech market via three orders
Jun 20, 2012 - German Biogas Nord AG (ETR:BG8) said today it entered the Czech market via three orders for the construction of biogas plants worth a total of EUR 10 million (USD 12.7m).
The first order is for a 1.2-MW plant in Sazava, which will become operational in November 2012. The facility, whose capacity is to be increased to 2 MW in 2013, will provide heat and electricity to a farm with some 14,000 pigs.
This order is in line with the group’s strategy to expand its global presence and invest in self-owned biogas plants, Biogas added.
Biogas Nord Power AG, a 100% subsidiary of Biogas Nord AG, owns 48% of the Sazava plant. The remaining stakes are held by two Czech investment firms.
The other two orders, for a 1.4-MW biogas plant and for an 800-kW one, were received after the first contract. Both facilities are currently under construction.
