Genalta Power to build 2 MW waste energy-to-power plant for Pengrowth Energy
(ADPnews) - Oct 8, 2010 - Canadian waste energy-to-power plants developer Genalta Power on Friday said it would build a 2-MW waste energy-to-electricity facility for domestic oil and gas projects operator Pengrowth Energy Trust (TSE:PGF.UN).
The green energy firm received a CAD-1.89-million (USD 1.85m/EUR 1.33m) grant from the Climate Change and Emissions Management Corp.
Genalta will install and operate the unit, which will be located on the site of Pengrowth's Olds Sour Gas Facility. All of the power production is to be sold to Pengrowth for onsite use under a long-term power purchase deal, thus providing electricity in an area of instability and cutting operating expenses on the sour gas unit.
