GECO to wrap up 20-MW biofuel boiler in Lithuania in Sep - report

Aug 10, 2012 - Energy firm GECO Investments will complete the construction of a 20-MW biofuel-fired heat producing plant in Lithuania's city of Kaunas in September, Internet magazine The Baltic Course reported today.

The plant is scheduled to start producing heat to Kaunas in October.

The GECO biofuel-fired plant is the first independent and unregulated heat producer in the city. Lithuanian National Control Commission for Prices and Energy (NCC) has granted the status for five years until 2017, according to the report.
