US conglomerate General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), through its unit GE Renewable Energy, will provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for nine Fina Enerji Holding wind parks in Turkey for 10 years.
The companies have struck the full service agreement for 150 GE turbines in April, thus expanding their cooperation programme and replacing a previous services agreement, the US group said on Wednesday.
In addition, the companies will conduct a two-year trial of GE’s Predix-powered Digital Wind Farm hardware and software wind farm solutions that aim to boost the operational efficiency of wind parks and improve their performance. The package includes asset performance management, operation and business optimisation and wind power forecasting. Their implementation will start in the current quarter.
Fina Enerji is part of Turkey's Fiba Group. The company has selected GE turbines for several of its wind farms, among which a 50-MW plant near Istanbul and two parks with a combined capacity of 87.5 MW in the provinces of Izmir and Hatay.
