September 27 (SeeNews) - Falvez Energy LLC has completed financing for its 163-MW Falvez Astra wind project in Texas with GE Energy Financial Services.

The General Electric Co (NYSE:GE) unit has provided the construction financing, which will enable the construction of the wind power plant in the Texas Panhandle, according to a press release today. GE Energy Financial Services will in addition provide half of the long-term tax equity for the project, while BNP Paribas SA will provide the other half.

The wind farm has been designed to use 68 GE 2.4-107 wind turbines. GE will also supply the main power transformer and will operate and maintain the wind farm under a 10-year full service agreement.

This is the first utility-scale wind project for Washington, DC-based Falvez Energy. According to the announcement, the firm, along with its sister company WindHQ, is pursuing a number of wind projects in the Americas, including in Tamaulipas, Mexico and the eastern US.
