Gas Natural places best bid for ACS 560 MW wind power assets - report
Jul 18, 2011 - Spanish gas utility Gas Natural Fenosa (MCE:GAS) has offered the best price for the 560 MW wind power assets which ACS (MCE:ACS) is about to sell.
Gas Natural could offer some EUR 600 million (USD 843.9m) for the renewable energy assets of Spanish construction firm ACS, located in the Spanish region Castille and Leon, daily Cinco Dias said today citing corporate sources.
Those assets are distributed among 15 wind power farms in Burgos, Salamanca, Palencia and Zamora. ACS holds 75% in the bulk of the wind farms.
The assets sale is part of ACS divestment strategy targeting to dispose of up to 1,907 MW of which 1,400 MW in Spain. The bulk of the Spanish assets are wind energy facilities, precisely 1,056 MW, while the other part are solar thermal power installations.
On July 1, Gas Natural said it had signed an agreement to acquire 95.5 MW in wind power assets from ACS for EUR 72.4 million.
