Nov 19, 2014 - Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa (MCE:GAM) said today it has clinched deals to deliver equipment for 112 MW of wind farms in China.
More specifically, the Spanish firm will supply 32 units of its G97-2.0 turbines to CGN Wind Energy, a unit of China's General Nuclear Power Group. The machines are designed to work in high-altitude locations and will be installed at the 64-MW Yangchajie wind park in Yunnann province. Gamesa expects to ship the equipment in January 2015 with the aim of bringing the turbines online in March.
As part of a second deal, Gamesa will deliver 48 MW of turbines to a unit of Chinese renewable energy firm Everbright Group. The 24 pieces of the G97-2.0 model will be powering the Zhaojiashan wind farm in Shanxi province. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for March 2015, while the park is to be put on stream by May.

Together with this new contracts, Gamesa has been awarded more than 350 MW of turbine supply deals in China this year. It has installed over 3,500 MW in the country and is servicing nearly 1,000 MW of turbines, it noted.
