Gamesa to maintain 163 MW wind farms in France, Germany
(ADPnews) - Sep 24, 2010 - Spanish wind energy company Gamesa (MCE:GAM) was awarded an operation and maintenance contract for 163 MW wind farms located in France and Germany, the company said yesterday.
Spanish renewable energy firm Iberdrola Renovables (MCE:IBR) owns the 21 facilities and will pay EUR 7.4 million (USD 9.9m) to Gamesa for its services. Gamesa will maintain G5X and G8X turbines for a three-year period, starting from January 1, 2011. The order is extendable for two years.
Seventy turbines of a total 138 MW are located in France and 15 turbines of a total capacity of 25 MW are in Germany.
Gamesa's operation and maintenance business is seen to hit EUR 400 million revenue in 2012. Over 2,000 people are working to maintain a total 12,000 MW for more than 130 customers of Gamesa in Spain and abroad.
