Sep 10, 2014 - Spanish firm Gamesa (BME:GAM) said today it will supply 48 MW of its turbines to China Everbright Group for a wind project in the Chinese province of Shanxi.
The Spanish wind turbine maker will equip the Changfangshan wind farm with 24 of its G97 2-MW units. It will deliver them to the renewable energy arm of the Everbright Group throughout 2015.
The wind project is the first one developed by the Chinese industrial conglomerate. The group may buy another 48 MW of turbines from Gamesa for phase two of the project, planned for 2015.
Gamesa has secured almost 250 MW of turbine supply orders from Chinese customers so far this year, it noted. As a wind farm developer it has installed over 3.5 GW in China since 2000 and is currently providing operation and maintenance services for nearly 900 MW of wind parks in the country.
