Portugal's Greenvolt posts 43% y/y jump in Q1 profit
May 25, 2022 9:12 CESTJanuary 18 (Renewables Now) - Danish national transmission system operator Energinet has hired Fugro NV (AMS:FUR) to conduct cable route surveys for the North Sea Energy Island project that is planned to distribute up to 10 GW of offshore wind to Denmark and other neighbouring markets.
Under the terms of the new contract, the Dutch geo-data specialist will perform a mix of geophysical, geotechnical services and laboratory testing. The goal is to provide insight into the ground engineering challenges along the cable route from the shore to the location of the planned artificial island.
Fugro is expected to mobilise its dedicated survey vessels to the site in March 2022.
Over the past few months, the Dutch firm also obtained two geotechnical site investigation contracts and a marine site characterisation job for that same project.
