(SeeNews) - Sep 11, 2013 - French nuclear group Areva (EPA:AREVA) announced yesterday that it had been selected, as part of a consortium with industrial boilers specialist Leroux & Lotz Technologies, to build a biomass co-generation plant in Commentry, central France, under a deal worth EUR 55 million (USD 72.8m).<br /> The contract was signed with French Neoen, which produces electricity from renewable sources.<br /> The plant, fuelled with wood chips, will enable to cut carbon dioxide emission by 40,000 tonnes per year, with electricity production capacity of 15 MW and 50 MW of thermal power.<br /> Areva and Leroux & Lotz Technologies will supply equipment and services for the construction and launch of the facility, scheduled for the first quarter of 2015.<br />
