France's energy ministry named 14 winning projects following its first tender for biomass-fired electricity generation capacity this year.
The tender, launched a month ago, has attracted 41 bids for a total installed capacity of 156 MW, the ministry said on Tuesday in a press release.
Twelve of the pre-selected 14 winners rely on wood as a feedstock and 2 are biogas-fed. In total, these projects represent an investment of EUR 170 million (USD 183m) which will bring about 480 MWh of renewable-sourced electricity per year.
On average, the winning projects will benefit from a feed-in tariff of EUR 122 per MWh over a period of 20 years.
The list of projects is available on the ministry's website here.
