London-based independent infrastructure and private equity manager Foresight Group LLP yesterday announced the launch of a new fund to invest in UK-listed renewable energy and infrastructure equities and bonds.
FP Foresight UK Infrastructure Income Fund, as the new fund is named, will target an annual income of 5% with dividends paid quarterly. It has a minimum investment of GBP 1,000 (EUR 1,134/ USD 1,346), or GBP 100 per month for regular savings, and comprises one share class for both retail and institutional investors.
"Foresight believes that renewable energy and infrastructure are attractive asset classes as they are characterised by stable and predictable demand, high barriers to entry and long term contracted revenue streams, " the company said in a statement.
" The global decarbonisation agenda will lead to a growing reliance on renewable energy, which is becoming cheaper to produce and easier to store," Jamie Richards, partner at Foresight, adds.
Collectively, Foresight-managed funds already own over 1 GW of renewable energy generating capacity in more than 85 solar farms around the globe and 28 waste-to-energy facilities in the UK.
