Five geothermal projects in Nevada get green light - report
Oct 7, 2011 - The Carson City District Bureau of Land Management has permitted five geothermal energy plants with 60 MW capacity each in Churchill County in the US state of Nevada, local daily Lahontan Valley News reported on Tuesday.
US geothermal power project developer Gradient Resources and Ormat Nevada Inc, a subsidiary of US geothermal power firm Ormat Technologies (NYSE:ORA), are the developers of the proposed projects, according to the daily.
The projects are expected to create 370 construction jobs and 70 permanent jobs.
The bureau has also approved a new transmission line from the city of Fallon to Carson Lake, the daily added.
