Finland's Wello initiates wave energy cooperation in Taiwan

June 2 (Renewables Now) - Finish wave energy converters developer Wello Oy announced today it has signed a pact that outlines plans for the exploration and deployment of its technology off the coast of Taiwan.

The company has met with representatives of the National Taiwan Ocean University’s Centre for Ocean Energy Systems (NTOU) on Monday to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the cooperation.

Wello did not provide any details about the development but said it hopes to multiply its local projects in the near future.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Keelung City Government and representatives from the Finland Trade Centre in Taiwan.
