Finerge buys 19 MW of wind parks in Portugal

March 21 (Renewables Now) - Portuguese wind power company Finerge has bought two wind farms with a combined capacity of 18.9 MW from local industrial group Martifer SGPS SA (ELI:MAR) and SPEE.

According to information released by Martifer and published in the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) on Wednesday, the deal was valued at EUR 23 million (USD 26m).

The assets are the 12.6-MW Vila Franca de Xira and the 6.3-MW Baiao wind parks. With the new acquisition, Finerge now has 43 wind farms in its portfolio, with a total installed capacity of 908 MW.

Martifer, which held 50% of each wind farm, stated the move is part of its asset rotation, value adding and debt reduction strategy.
